Robot in the home

A companion robot with its own voice layer. ONIOKO sits next to it: perceives how the people in the room respond to the robot, and remembers across days. The partner voice layer stays the voice.

  1. Family: Adults, children
  2. Robot: Sensors, partner hardware
  3. Voice layer: Partner, unchanged
  4. Consent: Subjects and consent
  5. Perception: Signals per moment
  6. Memory: Across days and weeks
  7. Export, deletion: At the family's request

Scroll. The map follows.

Station 1 of 7 · PERSON

Family

The people the robot lives with. Each is its own subject with its own consent. Children: consent of the guardians, narrow purpose.

Goes inNothing from outside
Comes outSpeech, expression, posture in daily life
  • One consent per person
  • Revocation at the device, any time
Station 2 of 7 · PARTNER

Robot

Camera, microphone, speaker. The robot decides when a moment is captured. No continuous recording.

Goes inAllowance from consent
Comes outAudio and video of the chosen moment Session start and end
  • Chosen moments
  • Local buffer, then hand-over
Station 3 of 7 · PARTNER

Voice layer

The partner's own voice technology. It speaks. ONIOKO does not replace it, it gives it context: what is perceived right now and what is known from before.

Goes inSignals from Perception Context from Memory
Comes outSpoken answer to the family
  • No change to the voice model needed
  • Context arrives as data, not as scripted text
Station 4 of 7 · TRUST

Consent

Consent is not a checkbox at the start. It constrains every call. Without valid consent for this subject, Perception returns "unavailable" and Memory writes nothing.

Goes inSubject identity (pseudonymous allowed) Purpose, scope, duration Revocation, deletion request
Comes outAllow or block per call Deletion receipt Export package
  • Chosen moments, no continuous recording
  • No emotion labels, no scoring, no diagnosis
  • Revocation applies to running sessions at once
Station 5 of 7 · PERCEPTION

Perception

Reads observable signals from face, voice and body over time. Describes, never judges. "Unavailable" is a valid state, not an error.

Goes inAudio, video or stream bound to a session Timestamps Consent reference
Comes outMeasured signals per time segment Availability state Source reference
  • No labels, only measurable things
  • Every signal carries its source
  • The human keeps the interpretation
Station 6 of 7 · MEMORY

Memory

Keeps entries per person across sessions, with source and provenance intact. Distinguishes statement, confirmation, interpretation, hypothesis and correction.

Goes inEntries from the session or the partner system Signals from Perception Corrections by the human
Comes outQueryable entries with source History over time Export and deletion per subject
  • Sources stay visible
  • Interpretations are marked as such
  • Deletion removes entries and derivations
Station 7 of 7 · TRUST

Export, deletion

Every family can see what is stored, export it or have it deleted at any time. The robot shows the way there.

Goes inRequest by the family
Comes outExport package Deletion receipt
  • Deadline from the integration contract
  • Deletion includes derivations

Steps

  1. Family. Each person is a subject with their own consent. Children: consent of the guardians, narrow purpose.
  2. Robot. Camera, microphone, speaker. It decides when a moment is captured. No continuous recording.
  3. Voice layer. The partner's own technology. ONIOKO gives it context as data, it does not change it.
  4. Consent. Checked before every hand-over. Without it, nothing leaves the robot.
  5. Perception. Signals per moment. On-device capability is open (fact 14).
  6. Memory. Across days and weeks, with source. On-device capability is open (fact 14).
  7. Export, deletion. At the family's request, with receipt.

Two variants: in the cloud variant chosen moments are handed over with consent. In the on-device variant parts of Perception run on the robot. Which parts can do that today is answered from the code, not on this page.
